Once you’ve entered your emissions data into the platform, the final step is to publish your report. This creates a time-stamped, shareable snapshot of your data that you can view, download, and share.
Why publish?
Publishing your report gives you a finished, formal version of your Company Carbon Report. It includes extra formatting and insights that make it easier to share across your company and with external stakeholders (e.g. for CSRD, SECR, or SBTi reporting).
The publish flow is a short review process that helps you:
✅ Check all required emissions categories (Scope 1, 2 and 3)
📝 Provide reasons for any categories with no data
📄 Generate a polished, branded version of your report
Once published, your report includes:
A breakdown of your Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions
Charts and analysis of your main emissions sources
A timestamp of when the report was first and last published
When should I publish?
You should publish once all relevant data is entered. This is your chance to double-check everything before generating the official version.
Need to make updates later? No problem - just return to the dashboard, update your data, and re-publish.
How to publish your report
Click “Publish”
You’ll find the button in the top right of the report page.
If it’s greyed out, make sure you’ve completed at least one emissions category.
Review each Scope
You’ll see a checklist of categories under Scope 1, 2 and 3.
✅ For categories with data, confirm everything is included.
❌ For empty categories, select a reason (e.g. “No emissions to report”).
Finalise your report
After reviewing all categories, click “Publish”.
The platform will generate your finished report and take you to a new page where you can view and download it.
FAQs
Q: What happens if I skip a category?
You’ll be asked to provide a reason (e.g. “Not required” or “No emissions to report”). This ensures clarity and helps keep your report compliant.
Q: Will the report be visible to others?
No, your report is private unless you choose to download and share it externally.
Q: Can I publish with partial data?
Yes, but we recommend publishing only once your data is complete. Partial reports may not be accepted by investors or regulators.
Q: Do I need to publish to see my results?
No - you can always preview your emissions data in the dashboard. Publishing simply creates a formal, locked version of the report.
