Location-Based Factors: These are average emission factors for the electricity grid in your region. They represent the mix of energy sources (e.g., coal, gas, renewables) used in your area and are used when no specific data is provided.

Market-Based Factors: These are emission factors specific to the electricity provider you’ve chosen. For example, if you buy electricity from a green energy supplier, their emissions will likely be lower than the regional average. Market-based factors allow us to reflect your efforts to choose cleaner energy sources and are only used if they meet our quality criteria.
