Keeping an accurate log of all the sites in your business is essential for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of your emissions reporting.

What is a Site?

A site refers to any physical location that is part of your company’s operations and contributes to its carbon footprint. For food companies, examples of sites include:

  • HQ: your main office or corporate hub.

  • Production facilities: factories or kitchens where food is prepared or packaged.

  • Retail locations: company-owned shops, restaurants, or cafes where your products are sold.

  • Storage units: warehouses or cold storage facilities.

How to Add a Site

You will be prompted to log your sites when creating your first report. To add a site, fill out the following fields in the site creation form:

  • Name: enter a name that clearly identifies the site (e.g. “London Headquarters” or “Main Production Facility”).

  • Country: select the country where the site is located.

  • Category: choose the site’s primary function from the dropdown options. If a site fulfils multiple functions, choose the one that is most representative.

Note: Ensure all your operational sites are included. Omitting locations could result in an incomplete carbon footprint calculation.

Managing Your Sites

After logging your sites, you can view them, and add additional sites in the Sites tab within your account.

Best Practices

  1. Ensure all sites your company has operational control over are included. Omitting locations could result in an incomplete carbon footprint calculation.

  2. Once a site is created, its country cannot be changed. Double-check this information during setup.

  3. For any sites outside the UK, get in touch with us. We may need additional details to apply the correct emissions factors.
