Once you've uploaded your Food & Drinks data, its important to double-check that all quantities and units are correct, as these values directly influence your emissions calculations.

Steps to Check Quantities and Units:

1. Sort by Highest Quantities First

  • Start by sorting your data by Quantity in descending order.

  • Look for anything that seems unusual or out of proportion.

Tip: Decimal errors, or incorrect units are common in purchase reports.

Example:

  • 100.00 kg of beef might actually be 10.00 kg.

  • 5000 kg of rice might really mean 5000 g (5 kg).

2. Update the Quantity or Unit

If you spot an error, you can easily update it:

  1. Click the food item you want to edit.

  2. Adjust the Quantity field to the correct number.

  3. Use the dropdown menu to select the correct Unit (e.g., kg, grams, or tonnes).

  4. Click Save.

Tip: When adjusting units, remember:

  • 1000 g = 1 kg

  • 1000 kg = 1 tonne

3. Repeat the Process

Work through your data in manageable chunks to avoid overwhelm. Once you’re done with the larger quantities, scan the rest of the data for smaller errors.

Tip: Cross-check a few key rows against your original purchase data to ensure consistency.
